Connect to Your Rhythm
The inspiration for Rhythm Fitness with Jen Wegman came from an article in Bloomberg BusinessWeek's "How To" issue. Marissa Meyer, CEO of Yahoo!, discussed avoiding burnout by stating:
"Avoiding burnout isn’t about getting three square meals or eight hours of sleep. It’s not even necessarily about getting time at home. I have a theory that burnout is about resentment. And you beat it by knowing what it is you’re giving up that makes you resentful... Find your rhythm, understand what makes you resentful, and protect it. You can’t have everything you want, but you can have the things that really matter to you."
For me, one thing that really matters is having an hour a few days a week where I can let loose and be myself through group fitness classes. Sharing in the fitness experience with others, either as a participant or instructor, brings me incredible joy and stops me from getting burned out with the rest of my crazy life.
I am a NETA certified group exercise instructor. I am licensed to teach Zumba (+ Gold, Sentao, Step, Toning), STRONG by Zumba, POUND, BODYATTACK, BODYPUMP, and barre, and am also in the process of developing my own classes for my new virtual Rhythm ConnectionTM movement mentorship program.
Teaching group fitness is the BEST part-time job ever. I sincerely hope you will join me in a class!!
